We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join our Pre-Sales team, focused on data center, infrastructure, and hybrid cloud solutions. You will own the technical design and validation of proposals across servers, storage, virtualization, backup, and networking for enterprise clients in banking, telecom, manufacturing, and government sectors. Working closely with sales, OEM partners, and delivery teams, you will translate RFP requirements into compliant, well-architected, and commercially competitive solutions, from BOQ/BOM validation and RFP compliance matrices through to technical proposal documentation and statements of work (SOWs).
Key Responsibilities:
Lead technical solution design for data center, hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), storage, backup, virtualization, and hybrid cloud proposals across multi-vendor OEM stacks (Red Hat OpenShift, VMware/Broadcom, Nutanix, Dell, HPE, Lenovo, IBM, Cisco, etc...).
Prepare and validate BOQs/BOMs against RFP technical specifications, reconciling vendor quotes and configurations to flag mismatches, substitutions, and compliance gaps before submission.
Develop RFP/RFQ compliance matrices and respond to technical clarifications raised by clients and evaluation committees.
Produce technical proposal documentation, high-level solution diagrams, and SOWs for data centre, backup, and virtualization solutions.
Engage directly with client stakeholders across BFSI, telecom, and enterprise accounts to understand infrastructure requirements and translate them into well-architected technical proposals.
Liaise with OEM and distributors to secure pricing, licensing confirmation, and technical validation for proposed solutions.
Support sizing and capacity planning for compute, storage, and GPU-based workloads, including emerging AI/ML infrastructure requirements.
Collaborate with sales, delivery, and vendor teams throughout the pre-sales lifecycle to ensure proposals are technically sound, commercially competitive, and fully compliant.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in data center pre-sales, solution architecture, or infrastructure consulting.
Strong hands-on knowledge of server, storage, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Broadcom, Nutanix, Red Hat OpenShift, Dell, HPE, Lenovo, IBM, Cisco UCS,).
Working knowledge of backup and monitoring solutions (Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, AppDynamics, Splunk) and enterprise networking fundamentals.
Proven ability to interpret RFPs/RFQs, build compliance matrices, and produce BOQ/BOM validation and technical proposal documentation.
Relevant vendor certifications (Dell, HPE, VMware, Red Hat, Cisco, or equivalent) preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort using tools such as Excel and Python for data validation and technical documentation.
Willingness to travel across Sri Lanka and the wider region for client engagements.
