We are seeking a dedicated Backup and Data Protection Engineer with specialized expertise in Veeam solutions. This crucial role involves ensuring the robustness and recoverability of critical data and systems within a complex project environment. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining cutting-edge backup and recovery strategies, working remotely with the core project team.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Architecture: Contribute significantly to High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for backup, data protection, and disaster recovery solutions, with a strong focus on Veeam technologies.
Implementation & Delivery: Lead and execute the implementation, configuration, testing, and handover of Veeam-based backup and data protection solutions.
System Optimization: Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of backup operations and recovery processes.
Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert-level support for all backup-related issues, ensuring data integrity and availability.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Veeam Backup & Replication: Expert-level proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing Veeam Backup & Replication, including installation and configuration, backup jobs, replication jobs, backup copy jobs, SureBackup/SureReplica, integration with Hyper-V environments, and backup storage repositories (NFS, SMB, Deduplication appliances).
- Data Protection & Recovery: Strong understanding of various backup strategies, RPO/RTO objectives, disaster recovery planning, and data retention policies.
- Virtualisation: Familiarity with Hyper-V virtualization environments.
- Windows Server OS: Solid understanding of Windows Server operating systems relevant to backup agent installation and configuration.
Soft Skills:
- Strong Communication:Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and collaborate effectively with remote project teams and stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex backup and recovery challenges independently
- Attention to Details: Meticulous approach to design, configuration, and documentation.
- Proactive & Organized: Self-motivated with strong time management skills, capable of working effectively in a remote setting.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in backup and data protection, with at least 3-5 years specifically focused on designing, implementing, and managing Veeam solutions in enterprise environments.
This experience should include a proven track record of successful project delivery, troubleshooting complex backup and recovery scenarios, and contributing to high-level system architecture discussions.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of virtualization technologies, particularly Hyper-V.
Should be comfortable working independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with a distributed team.
Relevant certifications in Veeam and/or virtualization technologies are highly desirable.
